Vision

IKUZO GIVING—directed by a council of Azuki OG, Beanz, and Elemental collectors—will connect the Garden community to…

  • Cultivate and collect contributions for lasting charitable outcomes—promoting purposeful global connection, decentralized finance, on-chain philanthropy, and generosity as habit

  • Regularly convene the council to award funds that activate dope shit in a lasting way, and to associate generosity with the Azuki Garden community

  • Provide tips and share community insights on building a personal generosity practice—as an individual, and as a member of the Garden

Possible execution:

  • Convene founding council and build visibility for Ikuzo Giving, its guiding principles, and place in Azuki Garden culture; issue soul-bound token to founding council members with associated Collector’s Score points

  • Create channels and venues to gather Garden members, discuss Ikuzo Giving and the value of having a personal generosity plan, and inspire Garden members to join in the practice

  • Collect contributions from Garden members for charitable disbursement; issue soul-bound token to all donors, specific to each contribution “season,” with Collector’s Score points

  • Distribute funds on a regular basis according to the guiding principles mentioned below to make a purposeful difference in our time (culture, art, relief, nature, health, wellness, and more could be possible areas of focus—the council together can choose purposes that are aligned with the Azuki Garden community and Chiru Labs company directions)

  • Keep donors and the Azuki Garden community informed of the results they are creating in their individual and collective generosity actions

Systemic benefits:

  • Adds a charitable dimension to the identity of Garden members. This will enrich the lives of contributors within and beyond the Garden, while acting as an incubator and enabler for culture building across the world.

  • Adds a new way of retaining attention and loyalty to Azuki by creating limited-window, lasting Collector’s Score tokens and rewards for practicing generosity. Ikuzo Giving also creates another way to be involved in growing the legend and legacy of Azuki.

  • Exposes the Azuki intellectual property to a new sector—the charitable nonprofit sector—expanding the IP’s visibility and purpose in the world, at a time when charitable culture dynamics are experiencing generational shifts in how and why people give. Younger generations have been measured as more generous than older generations. Younger generations also tend to give from identity and to a purpose, rather than because of a legacy relationship with a given nonprofit organization.

  • Illustrates an Azuki/Chiru Labs business culture of corporate responsibility, as both a company belief and a decentralized activity, modeling how companies can deputize affinity circles to create and curate culture, make inspired products, expand reach, and transform lives and across the world—as a leader, convener, and catalyst. This will become increasingly helpful to Azuki and Chiru Lab’s reputation as it grows, disrupts, innovates, and defines cultural direction in all its verticals.

  • If donations are made on-chain, this leverages the practice of cultural generosity, and the nonprofit sector, as additional ways of illustrating the economic and community principles of decentralized finance and self-custody of assets.

Reflection:

There is a great deal of wealth in the Azuki Garden community (and generosity regardless of material wealth, too). To date, most of that wealth has been focused on collecting, and on building commercial ventures (frequently dope commercial ventures, yet mostly existing within the private business sector).

I believe that many in the Azuki Garden community are ALREADY generous and are already making charitable contributions in their private lives. I also believe that many would be thrilled for the opportunity to associate and grow in their generosity practice, or develop a generosity practice, within the context of being a member of the Garden—a real and virtual community that already has enormous purchase on their affinities, identities, alignments, and aspirations.

By making generosity a pillar of the Garden, we can make more of the generosity that is already in hearts individually by working and growing together in our charitable intents in ways none of us could accomplish alone.

Azuki/Chiru Labs has the talent, systems, and platforms to integrate a charitable strategy into its corporate plan. It can provide incentives to community participation and play an enormous enabling role in realizing the full potential of this idea.

I realize Azuki/Chiru Labs will be crafting culture and creating dopeness beyond Web3. The manner of fundraising, granting, and incentivizing and recognizing donors described above can be modified as appropriate to accommodate these diversifications.
